Cuttlefish, like other cephalopods such as squid and octopus, is especially rich in iodine, iron and calcium, plus potassium and zinc. It provides vitamins such as A, B3, B12 and C, and regulates energy levels and correct cell function.
The most popular way to eat it is grilled with garlic and parsley, although in our region, it is traditionally stewed with peas or served in a casserole with meatballs.
