Hake is an oily, low calorie fish, suitable for all kinds of diets. It is high in protein, essential amino acids, B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B9 and B12) and minerals such as phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium and zinc.
It is ideally consumed grilled with unrefined sea salt and a drizzle of olive oil, or fried coated in batter and/or breadcrumbs or as a crispy tempura. It can also be stewed or baked on a bed of tomatoes, potatoes and onions.
